Med-Progressive Care
Registered Nurses on the Adult Medicine/Pulmonary Services –Progressive Universal Care Unit at UK Chandler Hospital provide comprehensive care to adult patients with moderately stable but fluctuating acuity levels. These patients often have complex medical needs and require close, ongoing assessment. As an RN on this unit, you will routinely evaluate and manage patients with pulmonary, renal, cardiac, vascular and neurological conditions.
The RN delivers a higher level of monitoring and support, including progressive care, telemetry and acute care. As part of this interdisciplinary progressive care team, the RN plays a vital role in:
- Closely monitoring changes in the patient’s physiologic status
- Performing frequent assessments and treatments as ordered
- Supporting safe transitions from intensive care to progressive/acute care
- Collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers and allied health professionals to ensure high quality, patient centered care
